The Box

Prada trainers will come with a drawstring sleeper bag in a shoebox. The shoebox is made from corrugated plastic, not cardboard. The top face of the box should be completely blank with no Prada logo. On just one side of the box, there should be a Prada logo with the shoe information too. A real Prada sleeper bag is of a silver plastic material with a silver cord drawstring, not black or red. The insole of an authentic Prada trainer is removable.  Underneath the insole is a Prada logo on the heel area.  Fake trainers have insoles that are glued onto the shoe. There is a Prada logo on the heel area of the actual insole too.  Beneath this logo should be text reading ‘made in italy’. It is unlikely that any fakes will have this text saying ‘made in italy’.

The Materials

Prada Shoes are expensive for a reason - they are made from incredibly high quality materials. If your shoes do not feel like they have been well made, then it is very likely that they are fakes. The materials will be stitched together with thread which is stitched neatly, and there should be no nicks or imperfections in the thread when the shoes are new out of the box. Fakes will probably have very low quality stitching due to the time spent making each pair being very low in comparison to the time it takes to craft a genuine pair of Prada shoes.

The Fit

The way in which the shoes fit your feet are a good way of telling whether you have a genuine or fake pair of Prada shoes. Fakes will be uncomfortable to wear and will create pressure points on your feet - this is because of the rushed production of fake shoes. Genuine shoes will always fit very snugly and are incredibly comfortable. You should be able to walk all day in a pair of Prada shoes and not feel any pain in your feet.

The Design

Many fake Prada shoes will not simply be copies of genuine shoes - they could be completely new designs created by the manufacturer of the fakes. You should therefore check the official Prada website to see if your chosen style is listed on there. However, keep in mind that older shoes may have been taken down from the site to allow for new styles to be listed.
