Prada

Prada is the quintessential Italian designer brand, marrying clean, subtle designs with exceptional craftmanship and superior quality materials. Prada is a true status symbol, sported by many celebrities, and it is no surprise that their garments are counterfeited on a large scale.
The Materials
Prada clothing is priced at the high end of the designer market for a reason - the brand only uses the highest quality materials to create their clothing. If your garment doesn’t feel soft, smooth and generally good quality, it’s likely that you have a fake.
The Design
Prada designs are often very subtle, clean and sleek, and the only way of telling that someone is wearing Prada is to notice the famous red stripe. Counterfeiters do not take this into account, and create over-the-top, loud designs, with large Prada logos emblazoned across the front and back of the garment.
The Price Tag
Authentic Prada Price Tags are usually clear plastic sheets, printed with information about the garment. This sheet will be attached to the piece with a high quality plastic tie, and a paperclip. Many fake items will simply use a cheap plastic tie, to cut costs. Genuine Prada is always sized numerically, and does not use the conventional Small, Large etc. The tag may also have a bag attached, containing extra thread to repair light damage to the garment. This is more common with items such as sweaters, you should not expect to find this on a T-Shirt, for example. An interesting point to note is that the top of the bag is sealed with a red stripe - this shows Prada’s incredible attention to detail.
The Neck Label
Genuine Prada items should have a simple red stripe tag, attached at either end to the garment itself. The tag will say nothing else than ‘Prada’. Some garments will also have a small tag outlining the size, but our example does not have this.
The Care Label
Genuine Prada items should have a black care label, which details washing instructions and general care information. It also outlines where the garment was manufactured, and what materials were used during production. In our example, the item is 85% cotton, 15% cashmere, and was Made in China.
